Product Information

Name:
Methyl 1,4-bisglucosyloxy-3-prenyl-2-naphthoate
Description:

Methyl 1,4-bisglucosyloxy-3-prenyl-2-naphthoate is a natural product that is found in the plants Biflora, Galium and Wollastonia. It has been shown to have potent antifungal properties against the fungi Fusarium oxysporum and Rhizoctonia solani. Methyl 1,4-bisglucosyloxy-3-prenyl-2-naphthoate inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an important component of fungal cell membranes. This inhibition causes leakage from the cell membrane, leading to cell death by osmotic lysis. Methyl 1,4-bisglucosyloxy-3-prenyl-2-naphthoate also inhibits protein synthesis in fungi by inhibiting RNA polymerase activity.
