17-Hydroxy-4(Z),7(Z),10(Z),13(Z),15(E),19(Z)-docosahexaenoic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that is found in the kidney, adipose tissue and immune system. It has been shown to have immunomodulatory effects and may be useful in the treatment of kidney fibrosis. 17-Hydroxy-4(Z),7(Z),10(Z),13(Z),15(E),19(Z)-docosahexaenoic acid has also been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) and interleukin 6 (IL6) in mice models.
