Product Information

Name:
3-Phenylcyclobutan-1-amine
Description:

3-Phenylcyclobutan-1-amine is a cholinesterase inhibitor that inhibits the function of acetylcholinesterase. It is an experimental drug that has been tested for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease in vitro and in vivo. 3-Phenylcyclobutan-1-amine has been found to be nonselective, inhibiting both butyrylcholinesterase and acetylcholinesterases, with IC50 values of 1.8 μM and 2.5 μM respectively. 3-Phenylcyclobutan-1-amine also inhibits other enzymes such as formic acid oxidase and azide reductase, which may provide potential therapeutic applications for treating Parkinson's disease or cancer. 3-Phenylcyclobutan-1-amine can be synthesized by reacting chloroformate with formic acid in the presence of triethylamine and diethyl malonate
