Description:

N-[1-(Aminocarbonyl)-4-[(2-chloro-1-iminoethyl)amino]butyl]-benzamide is an inhibitor of arginine deiminase, which is a histone deaminase. This compound has been shown to inhibit the citrullination of proteins in human neutrophils and T cells, as well as cancer cell lines. The drug also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α by inhibiting extracellular signal regulated kinases (ERKs). In addition, this drug has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and is effective against arthritis.
