N,N-Bis-Boc-N-allylamine is an additive that is used in the allylic alkylation reaction to convert allyl alcohols to allylamines. It is a ligand and metal complexing agent with the ability to produce yields of up to 95%. N,N-Bis-Boc-N-allylamine provides a regioselectivity for the reaction with ethylene that can be controlled by varying the concentration of tert-butyl groups. This compound reacts with palladium acetate in an arylation reaction to form glycol. The product constitutes a mixture of mono-, di-, and triallyl amines.
