2-(5-(4-Carbamimidoylphenyl)thiophen-2-yl)-1H-benzo[D]imidazole-6-carboximidamide dihydrochloride is a peptide that can act as an activator and inhibitor of ion channels. It has been shown to bind to the extracellular domain of the potassium channel Kv1.5, which is expressed in neurons and cardiac muscle cells, with a binding affinity of 10 nM. This peptide also binds to the extracellular domain of the human α1A adrenergic receptor with a binding affinity of 8 nM. The amino acid sequence for this compound is H-Tyr-Nle-Gly-Arg-Val-Thr-[linker]-Leu-[linker]-NH2.
