It inhibits the activity of several tyrosine kinases, including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R). Thieno[3,2-c]pyridin-4-amine is both hydrophilic and lipophilic, which may allow it to cross the blood brain barrier. This drug also has anti-proliferative effects on various cancer cell lines.
