ON-013100 is a protease inhibitor that inhibits the activity of the chymotrypsin-like proteases and trypsin family. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth and induce apoptosis. ON-013100 also has immunomodulatory effects, which have been demonstrated by an increase in tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNFR1) expression, as well as an increase in the release of proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin 6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα).
