Product Information
The chemical compound 8-(6-Methoxypyridin-3-yl)-3-methyl-1-(4-piperazin-1-yl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl-1H-imidazol[4,5-c]quinolin-2(3H)-one is an imidazoquinoline that inhibits the phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K)/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway. This inhibition prevents the activation of certain proteins, including protein kinase B (PKB), which regulates cell growth and proliferation. This inhibition leads to a decrease in the production of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5 trisphosphate (PIP3). PIP3 binds to the pleckstrin homology domain of Akt and promotes its activity. Hence, this inhibition leads to decreased Akt activity
