3-Hydroxy-5-methyl-pyrazole-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester is a novel amine that binds to the σ1 receptor. It has been shown to have neuropathic pain relieving properties in animal models and is being investigated for its potential use as a novel analgesic. 3HMPCE has been shown to have high activity in neuropathic pain assays, with a dose dependent effect. This compound also has physicochemical properties that are similar to those of other substances known for their medicinal properties, including potent antinociceptive and antiinflammatory effects on the central nervous system. The pharmacophore of this substance is unknown at this time.
