Product Information

Name:
2-Chloro-N-methyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-4-amine
Description:

2-Chloro-N-methyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-4-amine is a novel chemical entity that inhibits the enzyme GNE. It has been shown to have a high metabolic stability and to be selective for GNE over other enzymes. 2-Chloro-N-methyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-4-amine is being investigated as a therapeutic agent for treating diseases such as hepatic encephalopathy and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. This molecule has been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines in hepatocytes, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis by inhibiting the activity of GNE.
