(2S)-1-[2-[(3-Hydroxy-1-adamantyl)amino]acetyl]pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid 2,2,2-trifluoroacetic acid is an inhibitor that binds to the active site of protein kinase A (PKA). It is a noncompetitive inhibitor with a Ki of 0.03 μM for PKA. The inhibition of PKA by this drug has been shown to enhance the activation of glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) and increase the phosphorylation of β-catenin at Ser33. This drug has also been shown to inhibit ion channels such as voltage gated sodium channels and calcium channels.
