Product Information
1,2-Bis(4-ethynylphenyl)-1,2-diphenylethene (bis-EDDP) is a chiral compound that exhibits fluorescence when irradiated with UV light. Bis-EDDP is soluble in organic solvents and can be polymerized by free radical initiation. Bis-EDDP has been used in the synthesis of polymers that are fluorescent or photoluminescent. Bis-EDDP also has cross-coupling reactions with organometallic compounds, giving rise to high molecular weight polymers. It is a high temperature solvent and can be used for the preparation of picric acid at temperatures of up to 130°C.
