Product Information
- Quinolin-6-Yl-Hydrazine Hydrochloride
- 6-hydrazinyl-Quinoline
6-Hydrazinylquinoline is a carcinogenic compound that is structurally related to the quinolines and isoquinolines. It is also an oxidative deuterium reagent, which can be used as a substitute for hydrazine in some reactions. The 6-hydrazinylquinoline molecule has two adjacent nitrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. This molecule can be classified as a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, with the hydrogen atom at the top of the benzene ring. The carbon atoms have hydrogens on them, and there are three nitrogens on the molecule. The H-N-O structure of this compound is analogous to other compounds in its class, such as phenazine methosulfate (PMS), which has been shown to inhibit DNA synthesis by preventing RNA polymerase from binding to DNA.
