Product Information
1,4-Bis(2-nitrophenyl)piperazine is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of piperazines and has been shown to have catalase, peroxidase, and peroxisome activity in vitro. It also has a high affinity for horseradish peroxidase (HRP). 1,4-Bis(2-nitrophenyl)piperazine is oxidized by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to form an intermediate which reacts with HRP to produce a colored product. The reactivity of HRP can be enhanced by the presence of metal ions. This chemical compound also exhibits cytochemical properties. It stains certain cells and tissues red due to its ability to bind to hemoglobin, cytochrome oxidase, and other cellular components.
