Product Information
- 9H-Carbazole, 1-bromo-
- 1-bromo-9H-carbazole
1-Bromocarbazole is a synthetic chemical that is structurally similar to carbazole. It has been used as an analytical reagent for the detection of hydrochloric acid and sodium in anhydrous sodium nitrate, as well as for the structural determination of carbazoles. 1-Bromocarbazole can be synthesized by the cross coupling reaction of 1-bromoacetone with either boron trichloride or phosphorus pentachloride. The analytical method involves light emission, which is proportional to the concentration of 1-bromocarbazole in solution. This compound can also be used as a fluorescent probe for aromatic hydrocarbons.
