Description

Hydroprene is an insecticide that belongs to the class of endoparasiticides. It is a potent inhibitor of population growth in insects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of chitin and proteinases. Hydroprene also has a physiological effect on animals, exhibiting both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on animal growth. This chemical acts by inhibiting the synthesis of active substances (hormones) by binding to the amide group and alkoxy radical of the active substances. Hydroprene is not active against plant pests, but has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on wheat germ at high concentrations.
