Product Information

Name:
Bavachromene
Description:

Bavachromene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon found in the fructus ligustri, or Chinese privet. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and inhibitory effects on cancer cells through its interactions with microglia and ganoderma lucidum. Bavachromene also binds to hematopoietic cells, inhibiting their proliferation. The binding constants of bavachromene have been determined using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis of acetate extracts from the fructus ligustri. The extract was prepared by extracting the fruit with chloroform, removing the solvent by rotary evaporation, and then partitioning between ethyl acetate and water. The partitioned organic layer was dried under vacuum and redissolved in methanol for LC-MS/MS analysis.
