- 2-Acetylamino-5-Iodopyridine
N-(5-Iodopyridin-2-yl)acetamide is an organic compound that is synthesized from the reaction of acetamide with thiophenol and bromine. N-(5-Iodopyridin-2-yl)acetamide is used to prepare reactive carboxylates, which are intermediates in a variety of reactions involving halogen compounds, thiophenols, heteroaromatics, trifluoroacetate, perfluoroalkyls, and alkenes. Mechanistic studies have shown that this compound can be used to prepare benzenoid compounds by trifluoromethylation.
