13-Hydroxyoxyberberine is a natural product isolated from plants. It is an analytical standard used for the detection of impurities in HPLC standards and as a reference material for laboratory screening. 13-Hydroxyoxyberberine has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, as well as inhibitory effects on the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandin E2. 13-Hydroxyoxyberberine also inhibits the biosynthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, TNFα and IL1β.
