Product Information
Ifenprodil glucuronide is an inhibitor that binds to and inhibits the activity of enzymes. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) metabolism, which is a major metabolite of ASA. Ifenprodil glucuronide also inhibits the biosynthesis of endogenous prostaglandins. Ifenprodil glucuronide can be detected in blood, plasma, platelets, and nasal secretions as well as in platelet membrane preparations from human subjects. It is thought that ifenprodil glucuronide may be used for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease.
