Product Information
tert-Butylmethoxydimethylsilane is a chemical compound that is used in organic synthesis. This compound is a precursor to other compounds by means of the Grignard reaction and can be used in the formation of ketones, salts, and alcohols. Tert-butylmethoxydimethylsilane can also be used as a building block for sulfides, sulfoxides, and thiols. It has been shown to react with tetrachlorosilane to form chloroform and as such may be a source of impurities in products synthesized from it. The process development of this molecule has yielded yields up to 94%.
