Product Information
Tsugafolin is a chalcone that can be found in the leaves of the plant "Tsuga heterophylla", which is also known as the Western Hemlock. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activity, and to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Tsugafolin is synthesised from betulinic acid, a natural product obtained from the bark of Betula species, and is known for its ability to inhibit microbial growth by binding to bacterial DNA. This drug also binds with dimers and trimethylated carotenoids in order to form an active complex.
Tsugafolin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
