Description:
1,2-Bis(2-benzylaminoethoxy)ethane is a condensation product that can be used as a reactant for the synthesis of cyclopentanes. It is prepared by condensing an aromatic halide with 2-benzylaminoethanol in the presence of palladium catalyst. 1,2-Bis(2-benzylaminoethoxy)ethane has been shown to react with cyclopentene to form 1,5-cyclooctadiene.
