Product Information
Methyl 2-(benzylcarbamoyl)acetate is an acetal derivative of benzylamine that has been used as a precursor for the synthesis of other compounds. It can be synthesized from benzaldehyde and methylamine. Methyl 2-(benzylcarbamoyl)acetate is a colorless liquid, with a boiling point at 118°C and a melting point at -30°C. This compound has been shown to have antitumor properties, as it induces apoptosis in hep3b cells (human hepatoblastoma). The compound also binds to chloride ions and guanidine ions, which may account for its antitumor activity.
