Product Information
3-(4-Pyridyl)propiolic Acid is an intramolecular, efficient synthesis of 3-hydroxypropionic acid. This adduct is hydroarylated in the presence of palladium(II) acetate, followed by a Suzuki-Miyaura coupling with 4-bromobenzaldehyde to give 3-(4-pyridyl)propiolic acid in high yield and with excellent regioselectivity. The catalytic cycle can be summarized as follows:
1. Palladium acetate (Pd(OAc)) is used as catalyst for the hydroarylation of 3-(4-pyridyl)propionaldehyde.
2. The resulting hydroarylated product (3-hydroxypropionaldehyde) undergoes Suzuki-Miyaura coupling with 4-bromobenzaldehyde to give 3-(4-pyridyl)propiolic acid in high yield and with excellent
