5-Hydrazino-1,3-dimethyl-4-nitro-1H-pyrazole (5HDMNP) is an aromatic compound that has been isolated from the leaves of plants. 5HDMNP has cytotoxic effects against squamous carcinoma cells and was found to be more cytotoxic than cisplatin in squamous carcinoma cells. It also inhibits squamous cell growth in vitro and may have a potential therapeutic use for the treatment of cancer.
