Product Information
- 3,5-Dichlorobenzoic Acid Ethyl Ester
- Benzoic Acid, 3,5-Dichloro-, Ethyl Ester
Ethyl 3,5-dichlorobenzoate is a monophosphate prodrug that binds to the chloride channel receptor. This binding prevents the influx of chloride ions into the cell and leads to inhibition of the cell's ability to produce ATP. The optimal concentration for this drug is determined by cell-based assays and in vitro experiments. Cetylpyridinium chloride, a hydrophobic compound, has been shown to be an antagonist for ethyl 3,5-dichlorobenzoate. A pyrazole derivative was synthesized in order to inhibit cell proliferation at lower concentrations than those required by ethyl 3,5-dichlorobenzoate.
