Product Information
- 2,4,6-Trichloropyrimidin-5-Amine
- 2,4,6-Trichloro-5-pyrimidinamine
5-Amino-2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine is an insoluble compound that can be used as a reagent to synthesize 5-chloro-2-pyridinamine. This product is unreacted and can be reacted with sodium azide in liquid phase or with chloride in solid phase. Reaction of 5-amino 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine with sodium azide yields the corresponding azido compound. The reaction product is then purified by filtration and chlorinated to form 5-chloro-2-pyridinamine.
5-Amino-2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine is soluble in acetone and reacts readily with azides to form the corresponding chloropyrimidines. It can also be used to synthesize 5-chloroquinoline from 2,4,6,-trichloroaniline by reacting it with ammonia and
