Description:
3-Iodo-N,N-dimethylbenzamide is synthesized by arylation of benzoyl chloride with zinc chloride in the presence of an oxidative agent. The reaction is carried out under conditions involving transmetallation and halide exchange. 3-Iodo-N,N-dimethylbenzamide can be used to prepare 1,1'-methylenebis(3-iodobenzene) as a starting material for the synthesis of other organic compounds.
