Piperolactam C is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CHNO. It belongs to the class of aristolactams and has been shown to have antiplatelet, hepatoprotective, and antiinflammatory activities. Piperolactam C inhibits platelet aggregation by inhibiting phosphodiesterase-1B (PDE1B) activity, which leads to an increase in cAMP levels. Piperolactam C also possesses eugenol-like activity and can inhibit COX-2 expression. This compound has been shown to be active against human cells in vitro.
