Description:
Benzoimidazole-5-carboxylic acid amide is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-8, and monocyte chemotactic protein-1. It also inhibits the release of proinflammatory eicosanoids such as prostaglandin E2, leukotriene B4, and thromboxane A2. Benzoimidazole-5-carboxylic acid amide is currently being investigated for potential use in treatment of autoimmune diseases and insulin resistance.
