Product Information
H-9 Dihydrochloride is a cholinergic drug that has been shown to have a protective effect on rat cardiomyocytes. H-9 Dihydrochloride inhibits the dephosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate by inhibiting the enzyme phosphatase PTP1B. This inhibition leads to increased levels of soluble guanylate cyclase, which in turn leads to an increase in intracellular levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). Increased cGMP leads to increased expression of epidermal growth factor receptor and growth factors such as soluble guanylate cyclase. H-9 Dihydrochloride also inhibits the release of dopamine from PC12 cells in culture.
