Product Information
1-Trityl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid (1TIC) is a molecular probe with optimized properties that may be used in the discovery and validation of new helicases. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of ATPases and RNA polymerases, which are key enzymes in many cellular functions. 1TIC has also been shown to inhibit the splicing of pre-mRNA, which is vital for protein synthesis and ribonucleoprotein assembly. This compound is selective for helicase type IIA and IIB, with no effect on other helicase types. The optimization process for 1TIC was carried out using high throughput screening in order to determine its optimal properties.
