Product Information

Name:
1,3-Dioxoisoindolin-2-yl 2-diazoacetate
Description:

1,3-Dioxoisoindolin-2-yl 2-diazoacetate is a chiral diazo compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of 1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-ones. It is synthesized by the reaction of an azide with an activated olefin, followed by reaction with a beta-ketoester and a base. The stereoselective synthesis of this compound was achieved using a ruthenium complex as a catalyst. This compound can be used to catalyze the transfer of molecules from one reactant to another, or from one molecule to another. The interaction between the functional groups on the reactant and those on the acceptor determines whether or not the desired product will form.
