Product Information
BAMB-4 is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits cancer cell growth by binding to the extracellular domain of the epidermal growth factor receptor. This binding prevents the activation of downstream signalling pathways, leading to reduced cellular proliferation and decreased viability. BAMB-4 also has an inhibitory effect on coagulation and can be used as an anticoagulant in patients with thrombosis. The antibody is capable of inhibiting uptake of cancer cells by macrophages, which reduces tumour growth. BAMB-4 has been shown to inhibit h1299 cells in vitro, but not other types of carcinoma cells such as A549 cells.
