Product Information
2-Chloro-4-isopropylpyrimidine (2CIP) is a biomolecular compound that can be produced by catalyzed reactions. The synthesis of 2CIP involves the reaction of carboxylic acids with pyrimidines, which are compounds that contain nitrogen in their ring structures. The products of this reaction are acylation and alkylation reactions. In order to produce 2CIP, an aliphatic carboxylic acid (e.g., acetic acid) or an aromatic carboxylic acid (e.g., benzoic acid) can be used as substrates for the reaction. 2CIP has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis through inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes.
