Description:

2-Amino-4-bromo-3-fluoro-5-iodobenzamide is a chemical compound. This compound is used as an intermediate in the production of other chemicals. It can be synthesized by reacting 2,4,5-trichlorobenzoic acid with lithium and chloromethyl methyl ether. The reaction is carried out under high pressure and in the presence of sulfuric acid. Nitrogen gas is bubbled through the mixture to remove hydrogen chloride gas and water vapor. The resulting product is recrystallized from butyl alcohol or butyl acetate to produce white crystals that are soluble in acetone, benzene, chloroform, ether, hexane, and methanol.
