Product Information

Name:
2-Nitro-4-(tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridine
Description:

2-Nitro-4-(tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridine is a positron emission tomography (PET) ligand that binds to the a3 receptor. It has been envisaged that this ligand will be useful in monitoring receptors and identifying profiles of specific receptors. This ligand has high selectivity for the a3 receptor, which is low in expression in cancer cells. The nitro group on 2-Nitro-4-(tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridine can be used to produce radionuclides with a positron emitter such as 18F or 11C. These radionuclides can then be used for molecular imaging of tumours.
