Description:
4-Amino-1-methylpiperidine-4-carboxylic acid hydrochloride (4AMPC) is a potassium ion channel blocker. It blocks the flow of potassium ions through the cell membrane, which leads to depolarization of the cell membrane and inhibition of cellular function. 4AMPC prevents the uptake of amino acids into cells by competitive inhibition with amino acid transport systems. 4AMPC also inhibits sugar transport in intestinal cells, leading to a decrease in glucose absorption.
