Product Information
- (4S)-4-Isobutyl-2-oxazolidinone
The compound is a potent inhibitor of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and has been shown to inhibit the mTORC1 enzyme. It also inhibits leucinol synthetase, which may contribute to cytotoxicity. The discovery of this compound was made through an in-depth study on the catalytic activity of the mTORC1 enzyme. The study showed that the compound binds to the ATP-binding site and inhibits phosphorylation of threonine by ATP. This inhibition leads to a decrease in the rate of protein synthesis, leading to cell death. This inhibition is more potent than other known inhibitors, such as rapamycin and PP242.
