2-Acetyl-1-tetralone is a chlorine atom that is found in the cavity of ethylene diamine. The molecule has been shown to have potential antitumor activity, as well as cytostatic and dehydrating effects. 2-Acetyl-1-tetralone has also been shown to bind to coumarin derivatives with high selectivity, which may be due to the coordination geometry of the molecule. 2-Acetyl-1-tetralone can exist in two tautomeric forms, the keto form and the enol form. It is also an isomeric compound with two possible configurational arrangements of atoms around a double bond. The most common acid catalyst for this reaction is hydrogen chloride gas.
