It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of corrosion in alkali metal systems. 3-Aminobenzoic acid can be used as an additive to the dyestuff industry for the production of synthetic dyestuffs. 3-Aminobenzoic acid can also act as an intermediate in the synthesis of dyestuffs such as acridone and hydroxide solution. 3-Aminobenzoic acid has been used as a corrosion inhibitor by many different industries, including oil and gas. This chemical has been found to have high efficiency when added to sodium hydroxide solution.
