Product Information
- Lanthanum (III) chloride
Lanthanum hexahydrate (La(III)ClO4) is a chiral compound that is synthesized by the reaction of lanthanum metal with chloride. The heptahydrate form of lanthanum hexahydrate is an intermediate in the preparation of other lanthanide compounds. This ligand can be used to prepare enantiopure benzoates and thionyl chlorides. Lanthanum hexahydrate has been shown to have nitrogen-containing ligands, such as ammonia, nitric acid, nitrous acid, and amines. These amine complexes are useful for preparing chiral amines that can be used to make pharmaceuticals or other organic compounds.
