Product Information
Poloxime is a chemical compound that is used as an antidote to hydrochloric acid (HCl) poisoning. Its mechanism of action involves neutralizing the HCl, which prevents the release of chloride ions and thus reduces the severity of symptoms. Poloxime is also effective against amine poisons such as ethylene diamine and trichloroacetic acid. It has been shown to have a potent inhibitory effect on cancer cells in vitro, and may be useful in the treatment of cancer. The inhibition effects are due to the reactive methylene group that reacts with nucleophiles in the cancer cell, such as protocatechuic acid or glutathione, thereby preventing their participation in redox reactions.
