Chloro-methyl-phenyl-vinylsilane is a cross-linking agent that reacts with metal surfaces. It is mainly used in coatings as a reactive functional group and can be applied to the surface of metals such as aluminum, iron, copper, zinc, and titanium. This chemical also has reactive properties with fatty acids and hydroxyl groups. Chloro-methyl-phenyl-vinylsilane reacts with pyrazole rings to form useful molecules for polymers. The reaction vessel must be heated to a high temperature (above 300 °C) for this reaction to take place.
