4-Amino-2,6-dimethoxypyridine is an organic compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of 4-amino-3-nitropyridine with hydrazine. The synthesis of this compound can also be achieved by chlorination of 4,6-dimethoxybenzaldehyde followed by reduction. It has been used in the preparation of nucleosides and nucleotides. In addition, it is a precursor to glycosylation reagents that are used in the synthesis of saccharides.
