Description:
4-(Propan-2-yl)-1,3-thiazole (PPT) is a macrocyclic inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the replicons of both herpes and influenza viruses. PPT inhibits the serine protease activity of hepatitis C virus NS3/4A and has been shown to decrease viral replication in vitro. This compound also inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA. It binds to the enzyme RNA polymerase in M. tuberculosis and prevents transcription and replication.
