Product Information
Cycloheptylhydrazine is a chemical compound that inhibits the activity of cyclopentyl dehydrogenase, an enzyme involved in the synthesis of cholesterol. Cycloheptylhydrazine has been shown to reduce lipid levels in dyslipidemic patients, and to have antiviral properties against pest insects such as mosquitoes. The drug also has anti-inflammatory effects because it blocks the production of cytokines. Cycloheptylhydrazine also acts as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, which prevents serotonin from being reabsorbed into the cell after it is released. This increases serotonin levels in the synaptic cleft and suppresses insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells.
