Product Information
1-Palmitoyl-3-stearoylglycerol (PSG) is a fatty acid that is immobilized on an ion exchange resin. The resin can be used to separate PSG from other lipids by chromatography and then analyzed by mass spectrometry. This molecule has a specific interaction with phosphatidylcholine, which has been shown using analytical chemistry techniques such as MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. It has also been found that PSG binds to metal ions, for example, manganese ions. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy shows the presence of butyric acid in the molecule.
